Dr. Christine Mitts began working in the eyecare field at age 20 as an ophthalmic technician while in college. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri – St. Louis Optometry College of Optometry and University of Kansas with a major in Human Biology and emphasis on Spanish. Dr. Mitts practices full-scope optometry with a focus on pediatric eye care and ocular disease. She completed clinical externships at Children’s Mercy Hospital and the Kansas City Veterans Hospital, along with a rotation at the Marine base in Kaneohe Bay, HI.
Dr. Mitts has also spent many years as clinical researcher for nearly 50 contact lens and myopia studies. She has also served as the former President of the Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City and an adjunct clinical professor for the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry. One of her passions is medical missions and has spent 2 weeks in Ecuador providing free eye care and she hopes to participate in more in the future.
Outside of work Dr. Mitts enjoys cooking and traveling and spending time with her husband and two children.

Dr Bullano graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a major in Biology and Chemistry. While there she worked as an ophthalmic technician during evenings and weekends. She graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she graduated with an Honors in Pediatrics and Visual Therapy.
Today she practices comprehensive eyecare at Northland Eye Specialists.
Her and her husband have four children together. They love to watch them play sports and attempt camping on the weekends.

Dr. Taylor Lind is joining Northland Eye Specialists after completing her ophthalmology residency training in San Antonio, TX. Originally from the Kansas City area, Dr. Lind is excited to be back and helping to serve patients within the Kansas City Metro. Throughout training, she was able to become proficient in cataract surgery along with minor plastics, retina and glaucoma procedures. She is also able to speak medical Spanish after working in the South Texas region for 4 years.
Dr. Lind genuinely strives to provide compassionate, quality care to all those whom she encounters. She loves the field of ophthalmology and wants to help her patients truly understand their disease processes. Dr. Lind is happy to be back in Kansas City with her family, especially since becoming a new mom in the Spring! She loves cheering on the Chiefs and Royals, spending time with her family during walks, and being back to eat all the great bbq throughout the city!

Dr. Connor Brass is excited to join Northland Eye after completing medical school and residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Kansas. During residency, he had the opportunity to perform over 400 cataract surgeries as well as learn a variety of corneal, oculoplastic and glaucoma procedures.
Dr. Brass specializes in comprehensive eye care including cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. He believes in providing care with compassion, empathy, and understanding. He is an avid Kansas City sports fan and enjoys playing tennis, golf, and rock climbing in his leisure time.

Dr. Carney co-founded Northland Eye Specialists along with Dr. Hembree. Her philosophy toward eye care is simple. “We want to make certain that we can meet our patients’ eye care needs no matter what stage of life they’re in – be it routine eye exams, new glasses or contacts, cosmetic procedures or minor or major eye surgery. Our goal as a practice is to be able to care for a patient’s eyes and vision for a lifetime,” she explains.
Considering the fact that she cares for generations of families at a time, often being invited to their weddings and funerals, she and the practice meets that goal. It’s a rare find when a doctor relates to children as well as adults or vice versa. Good vision is important at any age. Annual exams are important to eyesight and overall good health, so Dr. Carney takes the time to educate her patients. She’d never recommend a treatment or procedure without explaining all the details. “It’s a few extra minutes that mean so much,” she says.
