Dr. Christine Mitts began working in the eyecare field at age 20 as an ophthalmic technician while in college. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri – St. Louis Optometry College of Optometry and University of Kansas with a major in Human Biology and emphasis on Spanish. Dr. Mitts practices full-scope optometry with a focus on pediatric eye care and ocular disease. She completed clinical externships at Children’s Mercy Hospital and the Kansas City Veterans Hospital, along with a rotation at the Marine base in Kaneohe Bay, HI.
Dr. Mitts has also spent many years as clinical researcher for nearly 50 contact lens and myopia studies. She has also served as the former President of the Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City and an adjunct clinical professor for the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry. One of her passions is medical missions and has spent 2 weeks in Ecuador providing free eye care and she hopes to participate in more in the future.
Outside of work Dr. Mitts enjoys cooking and traveling and spending time with her husband and two children.
