Doctor Knows Botox® and Eyelid Surgery Best

Ophthalmologists fight or slow down the effects of aging on your eyesight. Just as effectively, we can also combat the signs of aging on your appearance with Botox injections and eyelid surgery. Who should you trust with your cosmetic procedure? You’d be surprised at how many providers and spas perform procedures without any proper hands-on training or medical knowledge of what’s required to ensure the best results.

Though extremely rare, cosmetic procedures do have risks. Botox injections and eyelid surgery are cosmetic procedures that are best performed with the skill and precision that only your eye doctor can provide. Northland Eye Specialists’ ophthalmologists are board certified with over 20 years in practice.

Luxury med spas have beautiful lighting and fluffy robes, but they are not a doctor’s office or surgery center. Your cosmetic procedure is about results, not pampering or ambience. Northland Eye Specialists’ cosmetic procedure fees are comparable to any day spa. Only here, you’re paying for medical expertise and skill instead of frills and bathrobes.

Blepharoplasty: Eyelid Surgery – click here

Cosmetic eyelid surgery, called blepharoplasty, rejuvenates the appearance of your upper, lower or both eyelids. The first step is determining your end goal and deciding whether or not eyelid surgery will meet your expectations. During upper eyelid surgery, we can eliminate fatty deposits that make the eyelid look puffy. Loose and saggy skin that creates folds (and can interfere with eyesight) can be lifted to return your natural contour. Surgery on the lower eyelids takes care of excess skin, bags and droopiness, and fine lines or crow’s feet. Post surgery, the area around your eyes glows with a rested and revived appearance

If you’re considering Botox® for the first time or it’s time for a touch up, call Northland Eye Specialists first. Even though Botox® is widely available, remember it’s an injection that requires medical skill and know how. Like any cosmetic procedure, the results are only as good as the doctor who administers the Botox® injections. The concentration, the depth and placement of the needle – our doctors know exactly how much and where to administer, avoiding potential side effects like droopy eyelids or brows and numbness. Botox® can also be used to treat certain types of eye muscle problems (strabismus) or eyelid spasms (blepharospasm).

About Cosmetic Procedures and Insurance Coverage – click here

As a general rule of thumb, insurance does not cover procedures or surgeries for cosmetic purposes. Insurance may cover certain procedures or surgeries if they are performed for medical reasons. Insurers have specific requirements that must be met and documented before they will cover some procedures. For example, eyelid surgery is possibly covered if it impairs vision. Tests are administered to gauge the degree of vision impairment and post-surgery improvement. Botox® may be covered for medical reasons such as blepharospasm and strabismus.
